Rice in chinampas
Rice in wetland systems inspired by ancestral agriculture. Water, soil and food in one design.

Panama Organic Farms is the home of Hierbawena — an educational platform for ecological agriculture — and Residuos Dinámicos, the company born to make our own compost and tackle Panama’s organic waste problem.
Who we are
Hierbawena practices organic agriculture. Poisons in food are an aberration — a one-way road to disease. Our work is to assist natural processes so they create wealth and health.
We develop living, biodiverse ecosystems. We grow nutritious food. We cultivate health, wellbeing and harmony — intelligent, beautiful and functional.
The ecosystem
Hierbawena teaches how to manage a farm. Residuos Dinámicos operates the composting that farm needs — and that the city still sends to landfill.
Educational platform
A practical university of soil, water and farm recipes. For farmers, youth, children and agronomists.
Enter Hierbawena
We collect commercial organics and turn them into bocashi. Born from the need to make our own fertilizer.
See the company
Crops fed by biofactory compost. Birdwatching tours. Later: cabins, a field school and a restaurant from this land only.

Manifesto
True intelligence is not creating waste, and growing healthy food.
Agriculture should recycle the nutrients now thrown away. We work with nature to meet needs, solve problems and enrich society.
